To round off the year, we thought we’d email the members of Keane asking them 15 questions about their highlights of 2010. And, happily, they replied. We’ll kick things off with Richard.
1. Favourite album of 2010?
Mt Desolation, and I’m not just saying that…
2. Favourite single?
Bed Intruder Song.
3. Best gig you saw?
Phoenix at the Roundhouse, or Doug Stanhope and Dag Sørås at the Leicester Sq Theatre
4. Best gig you played?
Dallas, Texas – we hadn’t been to Texas for a long time, and we got welcomed back in style. Houston, too – and the rest of the tour… we had a blast!
5. Best film you saw?
I loved the whole "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" trilogy
6. Best journey you made?
A road trip through the Rockies, though I’ve been to New York a few times this year, and I love it more every time. I would love to live there at some point.
7. Best TV show you watched?
Breaking Bad season 3
8. Best meal you ate?
Backstage at the Brooklyn show, takeaway from Red Bamboo, NYC – amazing veggie food!
9. Best book you read?
Legacy of Ashes – the history of the CIA, by Timothy Weiner, as recommended by someone to me on Twitter!
10. Best thing you bought yourself?
A subscription to Square Mile Coffee for a monthly delivery of their freshly-roasted beans.
11. Best thing someone else bought for you?
A little pair of antique chests of drawers – it was a totally unexpected gift.

13. Best thing that happened in 2010 for Keane?
Our 4th number one UK album – I honestly thought it wasn’t even chart-eligible! That and the touring – I really did love the summer!
14. Best thing that happened in 2010 for you?
I got married.
15. Finally, what are you looking forward to in 2011?
I can’t wait to get into the studio – Tim has written some great new songs.
