KEANE FORCED TO PULL OUT OF U2 SUPPORT IN LISBON DUE TO ILLNESS 13 August 2005

Tom’s got a serious throat infection. Apart from feeling terrible, he can’t sing at all at the moment. The doctor’s been round to see him and has ordered a week’s rest in bed. We’re completely gutted about not being able to play the gig. It has been a dream come true playing with U2, and we were especially looking forward to playing in Lisbon – one of our favourite places on earth. Our apologies to everyone who was hoping to see us play on Sunday. We wish we could be there, and we’ll see you as soon as we can. Our thanks to Kaiser Chiefs for stepping up and taking over our slot – you’ll have the night of your lives. Keane
