I don't think that this song slaps any religion, but he says his opinion I AM religious actually and I don't agree with the song but maybe Tim has a misguided idea (YES, it's misguided) that religions are based on violence and people win heavens for murder. NO, that's not true, no religion is based on that (including Islam) here are my two cents btw.I like the melody of the song

I am not a catholic but I have been educated as such, and I don't find it anti-catholic, or anti-any religion. It's against those who kill "in the name of God", or in the name of "holy truth" because no religion states that you should kill anybody. It's a fantastic song and the message is powerful, clear and IMHO tremendously truthful. Congratulations for writing it. I sing it proudly because I can consider those words my own too.

My favourite part of the melody is this one: "Oh boy you ought to leave this town / Get out while you can the meter’s running down / The voices in the streets you love / Everything is better when you hear that sound" The sequence of notes here is amazingly magical, congratulations Tim!! I agree with catholic people (I'm one too): I cried too the first time I listened to it, and probably is the best Keane song ever, because of it's incredible sound, so powerful. I like most part of the lyrics, they are really deep, but this and some other songs in the album are anti-catholic too. I don't complain, because I respect that anybody has their points of view, I just think that such a powerful song would be nice to sing aloud.. haha and I'll obviously won't, or not at least some parts of the lyrics.

Why do people keep commenting on religion? This is a very deep, wonderful song that you have to enjoy and appreciate. Personally, I think they're just talking about mankind, human lifestyles and feeling. Really, I found nothing wrong about the phrases "holy truth" or "spineless dreamers hide in churches". You have to look beyond!! Oh by the way I really believe "Perfect Symmetry" is the grandest, most beautiful and most spectacular song EVER. Keane , please come to MEXICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Moi qui suis croyant, je ne puis être d’accord avec les paroles de cette chanson qui siéent plus aux athées. Je crois au paradis en dépit de toutes les peines que j’ai pu ou pourrais rencontrer sur cette terre et crois à la notion de l’éternité puisque rien ne semble durer ici-bas. J’apprécie plus les mélodies ainsi que cette musique-là qui se dégage des chansons et qui, parfois, n’a rien à voir avec les paroles. Les notes de musique ne suivant pas toujours les lettres de l’alphabet.

This song showed me that there is aplace inside of me I didn´t know of. I also cried, from exitement, from joy, from my mind recalling so many things. I cried listening to this song, it's so beautiful. Then I cried again when I watched the live video on Youtube. The power that it's sung with, mixed with the lyrics is unbelievably beautiful. 'I dream in emails' is possibly one of the most powerful things I have ever heard in my life. I am wishing everyday for February 1st to be tomorrow - I can't wait for Nottingham Arena Live :).
