Very good video! Only that "UUUUUUUUUUUUU"in the begining of the music, always scares me, although it gives exactly the spiralling sensation. I think that the video is a litlle bit dark, I 'd make it different, with more moviments. But it was a good idea, it passes the meaning of your song.
A video very different from Keane type...it's a little bit...how could i say....slow to the music...but anyway...i just need to ge used to that.

I love the theme you mention, Tim. I think I agree with you when I say the portrayal of the idea life/love/family/sex/friendship/man/woman/more in our culture --- makes it difficult for most people to end up loving what they have. They think it should be a certain way (once upon a time, happily ever after). How can we ever live up to unrealistic portrayals of life? And why should we see that as ideal anyway, right? However, I think I disagree with you when I say I believe a real version of love does exist. It's not like it is in the media. While I think it can exist in sub sects of our society, I think it’s more prevalent elsewhere. It's like I see it in the faces of the people who live each day obtaining fundamental needs and not going to a job/driving a car/watching tv/shopping. I wonder how truly happy someone must be to celebrate like it’s a huge festival every day because they are not in a consumer-driven society. They have their shelter handled, they have their food handled…so they celebrate, they smile, they have sex, the love…frankly, they live. I think when desire isn't keeping you in the "as soon as I get that..." mindframe, you can start living in the now…which is where I think love, freedom, and a real chance at life exist.

interesting point of view. the song I still don't like (is the only one!), even though the lyrics are good, the instruments nicely blent, is something... not there. the video is kind of ambiguous, " the idealised dream and the dystopian reality of human existence" is a finicality expression. yes, we all are completly screwy, we dream about electric sheeps, cows, ducks, lemon bear and democracy, food on the table, friends on your right, good jobs with youtube acces and... world peace! we are spiralling in different ways and several times or in the same time... some people sing about it, some die, some never know, some don't care, some scream, some suffer in silence and some makes video like this. Is that spiralling enough? still love you and trying to see you somewere in this world...

About this controversial video, I wonder if the film director really had a total freedom, without none prior guidance (except from the lyrics & music) or if you gave to him like a kind of little story board and the main idea to drawn. The result is intentionally and resolutely reductionist with a total lack of ornamentation and profound feelings... But also most cruelly from the presence of two of you... So, at first, this superficiality looks cheap but it hits the minds or even can be hurtful for the more feminists... Don't forget that here man is also an object-man and, then at least, the video doesn't make unanimity !... That's a fact which is great in a way... That's art, that's all !... The repeat on YOU TUBE from the Jonathan ROSS Show has to suffer from a rather bad quality and we can't really appreciate it... Tim Richaplin has made a point, I think. He is correct about Radiohead. If you have to make a video with robots, telling people wer are all being turned into machines, then do it properly with state of the art technology. We have seen the robot woman so many times before. If it was meant to be an hommage to Fritz Lang´s "Metropolis", well ... I could let that pass!

Sorry guys but i don't like it, does not match the music, which is fresh, upbeat, human and fun! There's no script here, just cold computer graphics and Tom singing. You watch the first minute of it and then there's nothing going on... you know how it's going to end, no surprise... Really bad video! I like this clip. It's a kind of modernized mix of Tron and 80's Dire Straits clip...it's great...and Tom looks such a dandy. I'm despairing by fans reactions. They're quite the same that those they had when they heard Spiralling first. Personnaly I find it really original and exciting; it's completely different of what we're used to see and hear those times. I love changes. Keane going robotic? Ok, we've had this 20 years ago with Kraftwerk. I think the video goes very well with the music, it's what I had expected. The thing with social-critisizm in a musicvideo is difficult. 3 minutes is just not enough, you can only give a superficial statement. More importent is the way you act, which organisations you support , in fact the way you live. In your own surrounding you are able to change a little bit people's engagement. We are all against war, Keane made a much better realisation of this subject with the "night sky" video. For all those who are lucky to see them at the forum, have an unforgettable night!

L' unica cosa che non mi e' piaciuta e' che non ti vedo bene TOM, sembri tutto distorto, solo quando sei seduto sul divano sei come nella realta' pero' si intravede solamente un po' di occhio, un po' di ciglia e la testa di dietro che e' al buio , non si distingue niente , credevo che vi avrei visti tutti e tre come in altri video, ma questo non importa, ci sara' stato un motivo per crearlo cosi'.
