apologies. my computer completely and utterly died in ibiza, so i've only just been able to upload these photos... you'll see that we had an amazing time, both in vigo and oporto. playing to around 35000 people over two nights was always gonna be fun! thanks to everyone who came out to see us.
oporto is a beautiful city. i just wandered around for hours, getting totally lost. the tiny side streets are just the most amazing places - full of people cooking up dinner, and then you'll turn the corner and find an incredible church, or some other wonderful building. and everyone seems incredibly friendly. i loved it.

we arrived quite late last night. sat by the swimming pool and tried to cool down, and fed the 3 cats that seem to live at the villa we're in. spent much of today doing the same thing, and enjoying the sunshine. i've never been here before - looks like it could get quite hectic later.

I live in Lisbon but i already went to Porto and i agree with what you said about the small streets and i loved the pictures you took in Praça da Batalha and in Ribeira, the bridge is beautiful, they're awesome! I've been in Oporto, to my first festival, it was my birthday present, and I could not pick any better, you rocked. During the concert I thought that it was impossible, I could not be there earing you playing. I hope that you came back soon.

keane's show in gaia was simply amazing!!!! It's the second keane show I saw, and the second in the north of Portugal. I have to agree, richard, oporto is a wonderful city! And the best soundtrack for this city is Keane ;) I hope you come back to this place!!

@picklepine: You are right! There IS a giant key at the back, right hand side of the first floor! Those two pigeons sitting up above are funny! Also, in the one sunrise photo of the tops of that Church building, there is a tiny bird perched way on top of the cement globe that is at the crest of the design. It is very tiny, but you can see that bird if you look closely enough. Neat! Nature & the man-made stuff together in one photo.

I was there! In Porto concert, at Mares Vivas Festival. It was such an amasing concert guys =') in the photo of the crowd I 'm in the first row with my arm up and my brand new t-shirt of Keane =D the hours of waiting were worthy no doubt at all. Expecting to see you soon for another great show!! =D

The pigeons really are priceless and they think perhaps to redecorate : "Sweetheart, it's time to change the interior decorating !"... Richard the pics are wonderful. I loved the concert, in fact, I had the impression that it only lasted .20 minutes. :o) Porto is beautifull, and you don't have time to discover all the great places on there, maybe the next time. I loved the pic from the crowd, even I shuddered only of looking, i knew that the public was on fire, it was brutish. I hope you keep the promise to come back soon. Until there take care of yourselves, rest and burns down the capitals!!!!

I talked to Tim, while he was playing his guitar in the stairs of the Auditorium; Jesse was playing football in the middle of the arena. really happy to see where you've been and that you liked the beautiful city of oporto - great to see two of 'my' cities in the same blog - i brought both flags to the gig! those words really do describe the spirit of the old part of the town. i reckon i'll only have the chance to see you once again in portugal so i hope that will be in porto again! by the way, playing Under Pressure to close the festival was the best thing you could have done for your image in portugal - i havent read a single review or comment on your gig that was not positive from people who were not fans and everyone was genuinely impressed by how you nailed it, so well done and sorry for shouting for that song throughout the entire gig! ;)

Porto is such a great city, the bridges, parks, old buildings, port factories, esplanades, train stations - it's a great place for picture taking which brings back many great memories! it's been 3 years since I've been there and i can't wait to get back and see my country again.
