I recommend you to listen very carefully to “Let it slide� and “Snowed under�. When my life looks like the chaos after the Big Band (very often, lately), they make my day. There are lots of songs to show your tongue to life when it gets ugly. (Strawberry cock? Wow. Some people’s unconscious is really dirty ;) Don’t give up! Sani, I salute you LOL, you’re really funny : ) If I found you in a club I might give you a hug. I would recognize you by your milk glass XD I feel envy: Tom smells good, I will remember that. @Just_Elisabeth : Yes, in fact i also used to drink Coca C. for my stomach ache ;)...until i discovered a terrific medicine called "Citrate de bétaïne" (in french). I think C.C is a capitalistic rotten trademark involved in many scandals. So i woudn't have chosen it as sponsor. But you are right, it seems difficult to control everything in the music jungle, with concentration of companies which manage everything. But if artists don't say anything, if they accept anything, it's got off to a bad start...
Elisabeth, I have not really reason to feel optimistic, not only for the sake of my friend- btw she was my acquaintance from my former job, but in general. That is I´m very compassionate...... Oh the bliss. I'm listening to the mothership of all Keane albums which in my humble opinion is Hopes & Fears. I'm sure I'll grow to the new songs as well, but there's just something about this album I can't get enough of. I hope to see one of the gigs soon tho, they're always a thrill. "have you ever found anybody you didn’t know looking really sad and thought that you would like to say “Don’t worry. Everything is going to be all right�?" Oh yes, every time I look into a mirror :/ Hugging Tom sounds appealing, but the sad truth is that when I got so close to him I could have touched him I just froze... All I remember of that moment is how good the man smelled :D It's like standing by the ocean and breathing your lungs full of fresh sea air (minus the fishy smell). So whoever hugs him is lucky indeed :) Hmm, rice milk, I never had that. I had a phase of soya milk but, pardon me for saying this, it gives you a terrible terrible gas :O After offering it to a guest who spent the night with me I decided I'm going to go back for regular milk for a while. Hello. Please, read the comments in their context, not out of it. Thank you! :) Let’s talk about music, now! New gigs, wow! Great news! :D Stop for a minute: I needed some time to get the spirit. It sounds different but Keane IS in it. Now I got it and it’s a good sensation. It leaves me in a good mood. Catchy. Deep lyrics, love them. Tom is loud, I have to admitiiiiiiiiiiiit, and K’naan sounds groovy. But: maybe K’naan’s first rap is a word too long, does it step on the chorus? It’s a good song for a blue day, feeling a looser and that this will never change. Sometimes I wonder why I was ever born (too). After that I would play Let it Slide, meaning: “Well, I made many mistakes, so what? I’ll learn the lesson, it’ll pass and I’ll go on�. That’s what life is about, isn’t it? The video: I found what I would consider an error (visually speaking), but if nobody else noticed, it’s ok. Nice, reflects the mood quite well. They look so lonely and vulnerable … specially Tom: he makes me think that, if I knew him and found him there, looking that sad, I would like to give him a warm hug and try to cheer him up (he is not a lost puppy to carry home with me, but if I found a friend in that mood I would). Hey I just saw the Sun live version of this song. Very nice vibe, I hope it radiates positive thoughts and energy here too :) I read about Tom's drinking and Tom, I feel for you, I know how it is to be an obsessive person and have a bit of an addictive personality. I keep one rule with my drinking: when I really grave for a drink I won't drink for months, maybe a year, not until I feel like I don't really even want it. There's this artist in Finland I admire, Sipe Santapukki, who goes to bars BUT he always orders a long cold glass of milk :) I think it's pretty cool... I actually even tried going to bars and ordering coffee, but... the bar tenders would look at me like a crazy person and making a coffee seemed to be such a huge stress to them that I eventually gave up and now I just sit home alone writing silly nonsence to music forums ;( Anyway once I had an orange lemonade (not to mention brands) and I got it for free because "the first non alcoholic drink of the evening is for free". Sorry for anyone who is not really interested to hear about my pathetic attempts to live a sober life in the pubs of Helsinki. But the point is, I hear what you're saying, Tom.

Hello. I’m sorry if I didn’t manage to express myself right. It seems I don’t know how to write properly in English anymore! :) I word my thoughts much better in Spanish. Now I’m serious: I read some posts that were quite unpleasant (saying it politely) and my purpose was deffending the guys without making a fuss and seeding peace. Maybe in a wrong way, I see. If you read below carefully, a week ago or so, you will find what I was talking about. (I won’t remark any names. The Spanish Inquisition is out of business. And nobody expects … oh, leave it). Freedom of speech, ok, but anybody can say things in a non-hurting way. It’s easy to be respectful. Take for granted that I love their music. And K’naan’s style too. Good night, everybody. Guys, if you don’t like “Stop for a minute� just say it, and explain why, if you feel like it. Fortunately, we live in free countries and this is a free forum, but please ... don’t spatter your poison in the way of this awesome human beings that we admire so much. They don’t only have deepless talents, they work very hard and they deserve our respect. If you need to channel some hate, just aim at murderers, dictators, rapers, bankers … (oh, I shouldn’t have said that last thing, should I? ;) Tom, Tim, Richard, Jesse and the rest of their team deserve the best from us because that’s what is this place about, right? Oh, I forgot about K’Naan. I apologize. About him and the Coca-cola ad: it’s before his name in a not really big space in the announcement of his Trophy Tour, the last one of the 4 sliding images displayed at the very top of the web. (I’m glad that the first one is K’naan with our boys). I can’t see where is the problem. If I went on tour, I should need a sponsor too (loads of them, in fact! Nobody knows me, so how would I pay the expenses?). I won’t say names, but everybody knows examples of some who did sell their creativity. So what? Live and let create. Besides, there has to be music for everyone! Tom fat? WHAT? Comparing him with whom? He has a very lovely round face, and a matching body. Dirrrrtylicious. And so the rest of the boys. I've been a huge fan from the beginning and had had the chance to see you guys at Madison square garden in New York, as guest of U2. I bought all your CDs, extended versions and B side, and I just can get enough. My wife and I really appreciate what you do (music, lyrics, etc..). Your last video is great and it shows that once again you are evolving as a band, daring to try new things and new genre, yet keeping your character and identity. Love it. Only complain: where are Tim and Richard? Don't get me wrong Tom, your are the voice of the group, and K'Naan is doing a great job on that track, but Tim and Richard are the back bone of the group, I will have love to see them in that video. However, continue to experience and change the beat, that's great and innovative, it is good to explore new ground. I'm sure that you new album will be great. Go Keane! You guys rock!

I'll say, it's amazing hearing from other Keane fans from different countries who love the band as much as I do. This band has put out three great, diverse records that I appreciate. Maybe we're overreacting to one song, but the Sun performances and now this made me worried a little bit more than I'd want to. Great bands continue to make great music and these guys won't let us done. But, there was something magical about Something in Me Was Dying or To the end of the Earth or Snowed Under or Fly to Me. I was listening to them yesterday. Just brilliant music. Although, Black Burning Heart might be my new favorite song by them. Bands change, but this poppy, almost hiphop influenced music doesn't due this band justice.

I liked this song, although it has a style very diferent from your two first albuns. I didn't like The last train. I agree that changes are necessary and somehow they are a good choice. But, maybe, to return with some songs that could have the syle of your old songs, it would keep the original Keane' s mark which had conquered your fans in the beginning. My point of view!
Keane just showed us a new job with some changes, we sometimes think they are a punishment, sometimes a blessing, depends on our interpretation and objective, but it surely is an evolution and a challenge to the artist....Respect + Love..
Sometimes, it's inevitable when really good bands become commercial. Personally, I always followed Keane but I noticed a huge change on this amazing band as time wet by; I have to say this Keane is not the same as it was in the past. Many things happened and the boys chose to combine music; thus, I think they lost their essence and I have no deep feelings any more. I understand every single point fans present: some have positive things to say, and some others not. Nevertheless, I have to admit that there is something I do not feel and I hope that they will continue with their work. You all fans will kill me after reading this, but I can not hide this thought. @cannonjaime18 : I understand your disappointment, i am disappointed too by the new songs and i agree with you about it. But you can't have a grudge against Tom because of his past and what he did. I think everybody has hard moments in his life (and it must be harder for famous people with pressure, media...it's easy to lose it in their shoes). Ok, it's not funny for the fans but it's nothing comparative to what he must have lived. Everyone makes mistakes but we are allowed to have a second chance ! Remember under addictions, there is PAIN. And he had the courage to get over and to talk about it in the medias ! He is strong. In addition i don't agree about the guitar, i like very much Perfect Simmetry (yes i prefer Under the Iron Sea) but PS is a very good album. For K'naan and the comercial side, i totally agree. About Tom's weight, i still don't understand what is the connection with the music...he is an excellent artist for me.
I don't really like it... :( It's not bad, but really pop-ish and not Keane at all for me... was a huge fan, attended loads of concerts but every record I've liked Keane less... H&F was awesome, UTIS was great, too, but not as great as H&F... PS was okay, but didn't really grow on me... and I don't even feel the need to listen to this new song again.. which is really sad :( But I hope that other people like that stuff too... and that you keep on writing beautiful music : ) Lots of love!

March 29 - April 8 = 11 days of absolute silence. So I can say this very strongly: "Here is the place where nothing happens!" or maybe: "Here is the place where nothing happens?" I do not understand what kind of promotion strategy is this! Or there is no strategy for promoting and everything is left to chance! I am a Keane fan only for 5 months and I don't know much about the past, but I am very disappointed by what happens now (or don't happens now). Sorry for my pooooor english!

As much as I love you guys and I think this video is pretty cool, but I have to admit I miss the old Keane too *sob* It's just starting to remind me of those cold mainstream videos rollin nonstop on MTV with no meaning (sorry to be so brutally honest and may I underline I still love you guys and Tom is hot & was never fat in my opinion, maybe just a bit chubby in a cute way). I'm losing the magic somehow... Even though I find night trains cool and I hope I'll be able to buy the new album in Finland too. That's all :) I would wish you good luck but I don't want to jinx it.
@cannonjaime18 Did you see the sessions that Keane did for The Sun newspaper? Tom was really into the song. They obviously love this style of music, and I'm sure they've brought that up more than once in interviews. They are NOT selling out, just enjoying doing some different music in a style that they actually really like. I don't see the problem with that, they aren't going to carry on in that direction anyway so it doesn't matter that much.
Ok, I love Keane. Seeing them for the first time probably was the greatest night of my life. But, I'm still bitter they canceled the first tour. I'm glad the band is continuing to develop. I've loved all of their albums. But like I said before, bands change their sound without abandoning their identity. It's as if these bands read a few Pitchfork reviews and keep changing their sound over and over in order to get accept by everyone but their fans who pay top dollar to see them live and buy their records. Keane is a piano rock band. There is no debating that. Why would Tom, who is a splendid performer, undercut himself so he could play guitar? He's not that good at it. That's the fact. I'm glad Tom has gotten his life back together, but to act like it never happened doesn't make sense either. He's in a video where everyone's seemingly getting plastered. It's not consistent to me. I'm only saying this much because I love Keane. They're as important a band to me as any. But, my goodness, K'naan? This is nonsense. It's okay not being hip. I've accepted it as a Keane fan, they should too. And I'll always believe Tom losing weight had a huge part to his changing as a performer, but we'll agree to disagree. Went to see Gérald, past week... A very nice gig ! He made an awesome Live cover of «Every Kind of People» since he's a huge fan of Robert Palmer... He also made a great cover of «The Joker» in Taratata and I'm proud of him owing to his duet with Shery CROW (well, some of our Frenchies are not so bad actually!)... By the way, another gig is scheduled for tomorrow (or more exactly today, actually!) or I hope so...given that The Cranberries have already cancelled some gigs because Dolores was suffering from sore throat... Then, what a pity if they can't play :-(

Woah !! Cannonjaime18 - entitled to your view BUT personallly think it's mean and miserable to have a pop at Tom. Tom's voice is FANTASTIC and stronger than ever (probably precisely because he lost weight and became fitter). Keane are evolving but not completely morphing into an out & out rap band !! (If you need proof - My Shadow's on the EP and Sovereign Light Cafe will probably be on the next full CD). We can't expect them to stand still and I don't think most of the fans want them to stand still. If they change their songwriting and style completely then they'll possibly lose one set of fans but probably gain another set - and that's fine - that's what happens.

This is not Keane. I'm for bands changing and developing their sound, but developing as a band doesn't mean abandoning one's identity. The worst thing ever to happen to Keane was when Tom lost wait and wanted to be cool. Give me "On a Day Like Today" or "Hamburg Song" back. And isn't he an alcoholic? I guess canceling one tour for substance abuse wasn't enough. It's madness. The song isn't terrible, per se, but a dreadful disappointment.

La canción está chévere, no puedo negar el trabajo que ustedes han hecho para lograr montar el video, etc. Pero siento que en esta canción no hay tanto contenido y el video no me deja algo......... solo muestra una fiesta y ya. El CD de perfect symmetry es exelente, a pesar de que metan nuevos instrumententos dentro de las canciones; pero en ese CD no pierden su escencia, mientras que en esta nueva canción, veo un video muy comercial, muy de la masa, perdiendo no solo las caracterÃsticas musicales de Keane, sino, perdiendo la misma escencia de Keane. En verdad, respeto totalmente lo que la banda hace porque está en todo su derecho, pero me da lástima que una banda con unos integrantes tan capaces esté tomando un rumbo más comercial. Ojo, los cambios no son malos, lo malo es que ese cambio implique que la banda pierda su personalidad.

I don't know if i'm right but i think it's a love song about a person who loves an other person a little lost front of a great change in his/her life. The first person says to the 2nd that he/she will always be there for her/him, he/she is in love although they aren't together. I think he asks her to love him, and so they will be stronger as two. It's also a song about support in hard moments. But i don't know if it's Tim or Tom who has written it and i think it's for a film...maybe i'm wrong. If anybody knows more about it...

Dear, this new work will bring you many joys but not lose its essence. Every human being is resistant to change and their fans would be unaffected. Please do not be sad about the comments about the video. My opinion is that they did a very good job and I enjoyed the partnership with the rapper K `Naan. This is my honest opinion, I'm a fan of Keane but if I had not liked the EP have made certain that the express. In the beginning the partnership left me a little uneasy because I did not want the band to lose its identity. I've heard two songs so far and I really liked but for now Looking Back is my preference. I loved Looking Back. Kiss

Every day I listen to Hopes and Fears and Under The Iron Sea, wishing that music could still sound that good today.. Sadly, you guys changed your style, and it seems put on... It's just the fact that Keane used to be SOOO amazing. Perfect Symmetry had a few decent tracks, but it just seems like the music lost the really deep, moving lyrics? I can't quite figure it out. I just didn't like that 80's thing, and I'm definitely not liking the rap. That's the last kind of music I want to hear (It's all over in the U.S.). I'm sorry to say, I really REALLY miss the old Keane...
I don't know what to say...I was thinking for 5 minutes and then said to myself, 'I need to be honest with you'. The song isn't awful but is not your style, I mean what we've been acostumed at. The first time I heard that you've been working with K'naan , before I listened the song and more now that I see this video I had a bad feeling. Hi Keane.. I love Hopes and Fears, Under The Iron Sea and Perfect Symmetry, but sorry, I don't like this song that much. Maybe because it is a completely different sound, or maybe I should listen to the song more often and getting used to the sound. I hope the rest of the songs on The Night Train are better. (But I still love you Keane!)
